Welcome to our Nursery class page!
Our Teacher is Miss Howard and Mrs Hamam is our Teaching Assistant.
We are delighted to have you join our class where learning and play go hand in hand. Our nurturing environment is designed to inspire curiosity and creativity, allowing children to explore their interests through both adult-led and child-led activities.
Here at Latchford St James we believe that every child is unique and deserves the opportunity to learn at their own pace while developing essential skills. Together, we will embark on an exciting journey of discovery, fostering a love for learning.
We are really looking forward to the year ahead and can't wait to have lots of fun together and make special memories, embarking on this new journey of discovery!

Our Learning Environment
Playing and exploring underpins our EYFS provision. We provide our children with a balance of child-initiated and adult-led learning opportunities. Our children have opportunities to initiate and share their own learning with or alongside other children and adults and engage with adult-led activities to support and further their learning experiences. This is supported by our carefully sequenced Nursery curriculum that we adapt to suit our children's needs and interests. We have a lovely outdoor environment that the children can explore in their puddle suits and wellies whatever the weather!
Our nurturing environment and support from our experienced staff ensures your child feels happy, safe and confident in our Nursery to explore the learning environment and enable purposeful learning opportunities. To enhance our children's life experiences, the children will complete our Latchford Learning Bucket List during their time with us in both Nursery and Reception.

Parents as Partners
Here at Latchford St James, we believe in having a good partnership with our parents and carers. Together we can shape your child's future and help them to become happy, resilient and lifelong learners.
You can help your child by:
- Sharing and enjoying books and stories with your child
- Encouraging your child to write for different purposes, for example shopping lists and birthday cards
- Provide opportunities for counting and looking out for numbers when out and about
- Encouraging your child to be independent when eating their lunch, getting dressed and to look after their own belongings
