Nursery Teacher Vacancy

Come and make a difference at the very beginning of a child’s school journey

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reflective and skilled teacher to join our friendly one-form-entry primary school and lead our Nursery class for two terms.

This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who understands that outstanding Early Years practice is about much more than delivering activities. We are looking for someone who can create high-quality continuous provision, understand how young children learn and use purposeful, high-quality interactions to develop children’s thinking, communication, language, independence and curiosity.

We want our Nursery to be a place where children are excited to explore, talk, investigate, create, imagine and learn.

We are looking for a teacher who;

  •  is an excellent and enthusiastic classroom practitioner with high expectations for every child;
  •  has a strong understanding of the EYFS and how young children learn and develop;
  •  can develop and maintain an ambitious, stimulating and well-organised learning environment, indoors and outdoors;
  •  understands how effective continuous provision can be used to build children’s knowledge, vocabulary, independence and learning behaviours;
  •  recognises the importance of high-quality adult-child interactions and can model, support and develop these across the Nursery team;
  •  knows when to observe, when to join children’s play and when skilful adult interaction can extend children’s thinking and learning;
  •  places communication and language at the heart of Early Years practice;
  • uses assessment intelligently to identify what children know, understand and need to learn next, without creating unnecessary workload;
  • is committed to inclusive practice and securing excellent provision for children with SEND and those who may be disadvantaged;
  • develops warm, positive and professional relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues;
  •  is reflective, collaborative and keen to contribute to the continuing development of our Early Years provision; and
  •  is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or another qualification/status legally permitting the successful applicant to undertake the role, is required.
